What This App Actually Is
First thing to get out of the way: the Playground Rewards app is not an online casino. You do not bet through it, you do not spin slots on your phone, and you do not play live poker hands from your couch. None of that. Playground itself states this clearly on playground.ca - there is no online gaming site behind the app.
Think of it instead as a companion for the physical Playground Poker Club & Casino in Kahnawà:ke, Quebec. A kind of digital extension sitting on top of the real-world venue. Your points, upcoming events, tailored casino offers and poker info - all of this is stored and updated there. The app links your phone to what is going on at the poker room and gaming floor, not the reverse.
If you ever run into something calling itself an “official Playground online casino”, pause and check it against playground.ca and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission list of licensees before you do anything. The genuine mobile app is on Google Play under the package com.playground.pgapp and appears under the name Playground Rewards.
Getting the App Set Up
Installing Playground Rewards is straightforward and quick, usually a couple of minutes. The steps below are aimed at Android users; for iOS it is better to check availability on playground.ca first and not waste time hunting around.
- Open Google Play, type “Playground Rewards” in the search bar, or paste the package name com.playground.pgapp to jump straight to it.
- Tap Install, wait for the download and automatic setup to complete.
- Launch the app. If you have not used it before, choose Create Account. If you already have a player profile with Playground, tap Sign In.
- Enter your email and a password, and complete any identity confirmation the app might request.
- Look over the permission prompts - it will normally ask for notifications and location. You can always adjust those later in your phone settings if something feels unnecessary.
- Add your Player ID. This is the number printed on your physical Playground rewards card. Without this link the app will not show your real activity from the venue.
After you finish, the main screen shows your current rewards balance, any promos that are live on your account, and a snapshot of upcoming events at Playground. If you like seeing offers early, leave notifications turned on, they tend to go fast when they are good.
One small tip that saves nerves: set up your loyalty or rewards app at home while you are relaxed, not when you are already in the parking lot and itching to play. Fixing passwords with weak reception is nobody’s favorite thing.
What You Will Find Inside
The Playground Rewards app is broken into a few clear areas. Each one mirrors a part of what happens at the casino.
| Section | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Rewards Dashboard | Shows your current point balance and membership tier |
| Offers | Personalized promotions based on your play history |
| Events | Upcoming tournaments, WSOP Circuit, WPT schedules |
| Player Profile | Your personal details and Player ID |
| Support | Contact options for app issues and venue questions |
The Rewards Dashboard is the first page after you log in. You will see your points and tier there. Those points move after qualifying play on the floor, but there can be a short delay. If nothing updates right after a session, give it a bit, it is usually a sync lag and not a problem.
In the Offers area, everything you see is targeted. What appears depends on your tier and how often and how long you have been playing. Two people playing side by side might still see very different offers in the app, simply because their history is not the same.
The Events tab is especially handy if you like planning visits around tournaments. Playground hosts big-name series like the World Poker Tour and WSOP Circuit, and the app lists registration times, buy-ins, and key schedule notes. It is worth a quick check before you lock in travel or hotel, just to make sure the events you want are actually running when you expect.
Getting on Poker Lists Before You Arrive
For regulars, this is usually the feature that matters most day to day. Playground operates over 60 poker tables and keeps cash games running around the clock. During busy hours the waiting lists move fast and can get long. Lining up your name before you even step inside can save you a lot of dead time.
In practice, the routine looks like this:
- Open the Playground Rewards app and go to the Player Profile section to see your Player ID.
- Send a text with your Player ID, your full name, and the game and limits you want to 514-616-5176. That is the official Playground poker list number.
- After that, either check your app notifications or phone the venue at +1 (450) 635-7653 to confirm where you stand on the list.
- Plan to arrive ahead of your expected seating time. If you show up late, the seat is released and you lose your spot.
- Once at the poker room, present your Player ID or your physical rewards card at the desk to actually claim the seat.
Depending on which version of the app you have, the in-app messaging or support section might also allow you to send list requests. For now though, the text line is still the safest and most consistent route. Cash games running 24/7 means this whole flow is useful whether you are heading in for an afternoon session or a 3 a.m. grind.
